Development of static charge within synthetic filter media can result in discharge arcing causing fire or explosion with certain airborne dust particles in low humidity conditions. Additionally, some dusts carry an electrical charge opposed to the developed media charge, resulting in attraction between dust and media, which impedes cleaning.
In order to prevent static build-up and eliminate the risk of explosions in such environments Andrew Webron Ltd offer the following products:
WebStat S filter media incorporate a matrix of interconnected fine diameter stainless steel fibres. The conductivity imparted is permanent, uniform and unaffected by flexing or washing.
WebStat E filter media incorporate a homogenous blend of Epitropic® carbon coated polyester fibres. Like the Webstat 'S' conductivity imparted on Webstat 'E' is permanent, uniform and resistant to washing and flexing.
WebStat C filter media contain a homogenous blend of R.STAT/P copper sulphide coated high tenacity fibres in their structure which are proven to be highly conductive due their unique structural characteristics.
CheckStat needlefelts have a network of stainless steel yarns in a central scrim arranged to form a grid pattern in the felt structure which is highly effective in conducting away static electricity. Checkstat offers an economical and reliable solution to common static problems found in many industries.
